Institute of International Relations Prague seeks Researcher
The IIR is offering a full-time position for a researcher or senior researcher with a focus on security to join its team of colleagues within the IIR’s Centre for European Security. The principal duty of the researcher will be to conduct theoretically and methodologically informed academic research and publish its results in international journals and publishing houses. The prerequisites for the position are an ability to carry out applied research, and a willingness to offer one’s expertise to policymakers through papers, briefings, and consultations. We also expect that the researcher will appear in the media, and engage in expert and public debates. With the support of the IIR’s project manager, s/he is expected to apply for additional research funding and become a leader or co-leader of research projects that will include other IIR researchers, associate researchers, and PhD students. The research fellowship can be combined with lecturing at a partner university in Prague.
► An excellent knowledge of English.
► Have completed or be near completion of a PhD degree in the field of Security Studies, International Relations, or a closely related subject.
► A solid theoretical and methodological background in Security Studies.
► Previous experience with research, publishing, editing, and lecturing activities and projects, and/or public administration is an advantage, as is a success in applying for grants.
► An innovative approach and creative thinking are welcome qualities.
